Watson Tractor and Equipment Ltd. Opened for business in Regina January 2^nd, 1978.

However, the Watson family’s association with John Deere goes all the way back to 1965 when Watson Distributors Ltd. Was formed in Weyburn, (some 110 kilometers south east of Regina) by Mel and Doreen Watson. That company is now operated by their son Drew.

Watson’s move into Regina took over one of the most modern dealership facilities in North America situated on almost nine acres of highly visible property facing the prominent Ring Road at the McDonald Street exit in Regina.

Rick and Janet Watson (another son and daughter in law) moved up from the Weyburn dealership to manage the Regina operation.

Very similar to Weyburn, the dealership in Regina had evolved from dealers who were extremely keen on building customer relationships through very dedicated staff efforts in the areas of parts and service or what is known today as the aftermarket. In times when this wasn’t a top priority for many businesses, this was true leadership by design.

The Regina move was a very precise fit, fulfilling the Watson’s desire to grow within the industry through the acquisition of a company whose staff thought so much like they did.

Almost 22 years later, the Regina company has grown to be a very (well) respected leader in the business community, the senior implement dealer in Regina now too. Watsons was also one of the original 13 John Deere Signature dealers in Canada!

Family involvement continues, as along with Rick and Janet, their daughter Cari Markewich works in the dealership full time as assistant to the controller. Son Greg who has been seen around the dealership for many years works part time in the sales department while he attends the University of Regina admin program. As well, son Ryan who recently graduated form the University of Regina with a degree in Electronics Systems Engineering has spent many years working part time there particularly in computers, and daughter Megan helps with clerical duties.

But, the dealership wouldn’t be much without the support and dedication of one of the best staffs known in the business today. Watson’s are very proud of them as they are regularly endorsed by the most important people in the world- their customers!

This effort is backstopped by the privilege of having John Deere’s Western Canada Parts Distribution Center located just across the Ring Road here in Regina, which enhances things even more!

Watson’s service department carries the most modern supply of special service tools and accessories anywhere, to help deliver our customers the best possible service resulting in the least downtime. This area too, is widely respected in the industry.

Watson’s sales department carries an amazing inventory of quality used farm and lawn and garden equipment. Much of this has been used on stone and brush free land around Regina, resulting in a higher caliber condition. While the dollar amount of this used inventory varies, it usually occupies most of the dealership's nine acres! You truly don’t see many other displays like this one.
